KIMEX was founded on March 7, 1991. The company's main activity is foreign trade in minerals in the markets of Central and Eastern Europe. The company has achieved a leading position in the import of hard coal from Russia and Ukraine for customers in the field of metallurgy, energy and chemistry.
KIMEX is a holder of a quality certificate in the field of trade in minerals in accordance with the ISO 9001: 2000 standard.
At present, KIMEX provides more than 45% of the need to import hard energy coal to Slovakia. KIMEX's turnover in 2003 was approximately 42 mil. USD.
In 1994 the KIMEX company expanded its activities in the field of research and production and in the field of mechanical engineering. On this basis, a new SPINEA production plant was built in the city of Prešov. The plant is engaged in development in the production of bearing reducers. The SPINEA bearing reducer is widely used in robotics and automated systems, in the aerospace and military industries, in transport and navigation systems, in the textile industry, in polygraphy, in woodworking equipment and in medical equipment. The production is realized on the basis of a world patent, which is a part of the company KIMEX.
